“ I really like the atmosphere and our server was very kind and patient. I had big expectations for the food and I’ll say that I think it was going to be better. The crab dip was absolutely delicious, but the fish over the beans lacked a bit of flavor complexity. While I appreciate simple dishes, I usually prefer ones with a more intricate flavor profile. If you’re a fan of basic flavors, this dish might be a good fit for you. My partner had the steak and also didn’t blow my mind. I’m not saying the food wasn’t good; it was pretty good. However, I had a fantastic meal at Sir Li, their sister restaurant, and I had set high expectations for this one. I’d still come back and try some of their other dishes on the menu. Maybe I’ll still be amazed. ”

“ Love their outdoor seating area… this restaurant is worth driving from Portland every once in a while..this time the Gulf of Maine salmon was amazing, and so was the rum pear cheesecake. Get them if it’s on the menu when you’re there next. ”

“ Gather is a wonderful dining experience in the heart of Yarmouth. Hannah was very polite and welcoming and answered any questions our party had. Although very warm inside the atmosphere and the way the building was transformed into a restaurant is fascinating. The Orecchiette was creamy and the Brussels sprouts added a nice texture to the dish, along with the apple bits and bacon. Highly recommend Gather for a date night or family affair! ”

“ Our recent dinner at Gather was a 5/5 experience — we’re already planning our next visit. From the moment we parked and saw the beautiful building housing the restaurant, we knew it was going to be a special spot. We dined on a Saturday with reservations. While the restaurant wasn’t packed, there was a steady crowd so I’d definitely recommend booking ahead, especially during tourist season. The space is large and open, with rustic decor that felt cozy and romantic. The service was outstanding. Our waitress walked us through the menu, helped us pick out mocktails (#becauseDryJanuary), and checked in regularly without ever making us feel rushed, even though we were the last ones dining. The food was incredible. Most of the menu featured locally sourced ingredients, which we loved. We started with the mussels in vermouth sauce and the Maine crab dip, which was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. The Smash Burger was delicious, and the short rib was unbelievably rich in the best way. We wrapped up with a perfect crème brûlée. Oh, and those mocktails? So good, I almost forgot they were alcohol-free. We can’t wait to go back! ”

The food was very tasty with just a touch of heat in most dishes but service was a little slow the evening we were there. Great drink options. If you are in the area, it is worth trying out. ”
